20 Dec 2001 - The dispensing of controlled substances to patients needing pain management

7 May 2002 - Do you know what your limitations are as a pharmacist or pharmacy technician?

bullet

18 Nov 2002 - A few tidbits picked up over the last few months that may affect how we practice pharmacy

bullet

10 Jun 2003 - The letter of the law allows for a particular method of filling prescriptions, yet our Air Force automation, record keeping, and standards make it virtually impossible to practice in this manner.

11 Dec 2003 - Have you ever been working in your pharmacy at the MTF and heard rumors circulating about another MTF staff member? The rumors could be about anything, but usually reference some part of the person’s private life or conduct. What do you do when you hear these?

21 April 2004 - In this day and age no one would consider operating a pharmacy without having a good pharmacy computer system in place that checks for duplications, interactions, dosage warnings, etc. Even though the information provided by these systems may mean it takes more time to fill a prescription (clearing screens, pulling up profiles, prompting patient counseling) than just typing a label and placing it on a bottle, we gladly use these systems to provide a better level of care to our patients.

bullet 17 August 2004 - Whether we know it or not, legal and ethical parameters greatly impact our practices each and every day.

bullet January 2005 - Counterfeit Drug Products

bullet January 2006 - Many times during the daily course of our practice, we are asked to give patients advice regarding their medications. Usually, the questions have nothing to do with pharmacy law or regulations, but for this month, consider this scenario.
